Famous Artist Books

Today in class my student teacher, Heather, was showing a class of third graders how to make art books of famous artists. They are turning out really nice. She was explaining to the class that they had to choose a famous artist to do their book about. Several students asked her, "can I do mine on Ms. Poe?" - I LOVE IT!!! HAHA So... I decided to make my own art book, since I don't have enough self-portraits or anything... lol, and I AM gonna be famous some day. Here's the start of it. Have a great weekend everyone...

Some weird stuff going on...

Pictures keep disappearing off of my blog. I'm not sure why... Hopefully it will be corrected soon.

I just pulled the first glazed tea cups and saucers, and cupcakes out of the kiln. I hope to have pics up very soon, and I am working on the Alice in Wonderland decorations to go around them in their display. Yay!

drawing today and stuff

I did this self-portrait drawing today. I guess this is me, backwards... (how profound). My scanner had some ink left on it from yesterday, so it looks like I put a beauty mark on myself. :-P
I am also doing a lot of thinking about getting ready for class tonight. My coach wants me to work on my abrasiveness and anger... Hahaha... well, hopefully I will have it ready for tonight. We shall see...

Two New Little Paintings Today

I did these paintings today in acrylic, they are 6" x 6". The bottom one is "Remember", the top one is "Forget".

Quiet Today

I am feeling very quiet today. There is a lot of thinking going on. I am making a list of all the things in my life I have to be thankful for (cause there is a lot). The student of mine with the cancer is still hanging in there... makes me want to get out of any "dumbness" that I may want to wallow in. Things always happen the way they are supposed to, it's just hard to accept sometimes. In fact, I found a couple of cool quotes that reflect where I'm at; and were where I least expected them... Dr. Seuss. haha... Here they are: "Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened." and the other is " Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind." Good stuff.
I'm really excited about my new acting class, in fact my acting coach emailed me last night and said he'd already written a scene for me. Sweet! I can't wait to try it out.
