Watercolor Tuesday

Hello everyone! I haven't blogged in a while, mostly because I haven't had internet at home and won't until tomorrow... ugghhh..., but also because again I have been a little preoccupied. (not complaining) I start acting classes up again tonight with Ben Taylor and I am looking forward to it/nervous as usual. There is such amazing talent there. So inspiring! A nice little storm is brewing up right outside of my classroom window as I type. The thunder claps are making me wish I was back in bed.
Here is a little drawing/watercolor I did. It wasn't intended to look sad, but somehow it came out that way. I guess I will have to cut out some party hats or something to put on them. Anyway... have a good week everyone.

Starry Night Lesson

Here is the Starry Night Lesson Plan example for my first and second grade classes. -Thought it was pretty cute. (about an inch of it is cropped off the bottom... darn small scanner)

Surreal

Yesterday, was my first day back at work after what I can only describe as a very surreal week off for Spring Break. I had a great time with my sister and brother, my cousin, and my favorite guy. Sunday night, I talked to my sister, and she told me that my Mom's childhood best friend was in the hospital on life support dying of cancer. She only had days to live after she found out. She actually died yesterday evening. I feel like the universe has been throwing the whole "life is too short, so just go for it" thing in my face a lot lately. I feel oddly happy and anxious at the same time. I am looking forward to starting classes back up with Ben Taylor next Tuesday. I think I will be taking a lot more chances... I mean, what have I got to lose? I also plan to go ahead and get a couple of new headshots done, and look for a part-time job, so I can save up to go on a trip.

Here is a little painting (inspired by 'Girl With a Kitten' by Lucian Freud) , still in progress, I have been playing around with. It makes me laugh, and the cat seems to be doing okay... hahaha....Have a great week everyone.

Pizza

Here are some really bad scans of some pizza (clay pizza) that I made recently. I was very happy with how they came out... they look pretty realistic in person. One is an 'angry' pizza and the other is a 'happy' pizza. :-P

My sweet little student

I had a really good day yesterday, but my sweet little student, Ryan, lost his battle with cancer early this morning. I feel both happy and very sad today. It's a weird feeling and even weirder mixed with exhaustion. I need some sleep, bad.
