Summer Butterflies

I've had a little extra time on my hands, so I made a few butterfly brooches. I'm really happy with how they came out. I especially love the yellow one. I'll be posting them on Etsy today or tomorrow.

Reflections

My life would be much simpler but I guess much less exciting if I could stick to one idea at a time. Here are some pics I took from my cell phone recently. I was heading out to the gym, and I just thought these reflection puddles on the ground after the rain from the night before were just amazing. Here are a couple of the images.

More Super Heroes

Here is another Super Hero themed painting. I call it "I Know... But What If It Was Real?" Let me know what you think. I'm planning on adding it to Etsy this coming week. I'll post another RSH themed painting soon.

Reluctant Super Hereos and other stuff

Man, I have to get on here more often. Most of my attention recently has been on the acting side of things rather than on the painting and drawing.

Although, I have been playing around with some simple drawings of children and girls/women that dream of being superheroes. I wonder where that comes from... ha! Anyway, here is one that I posted this morning on my Etsy shop. Let me know what you think. I already have several more in the works. They are a lot of fun.

Owls

Owls. I have been afraid of them since I was a little girl. I saw them everywhere; I still see them. They are on street signs, in trees, on the side of the road, on the lawn, flying in front of the car; and usually looking right at me. I'm not talking about decorations, even though I was born in the 70's. No matter how many times I've seen them, I haven't quite shaken my fear of them. I even went up to a person that was holding a live Great Horned Owl for teaching. Him telling me that its just a cat with wings didn't help either.
Now, I don't want to put anybody off by getting too new-agey, but I started looking up information about totem animals, power animals, and shadow animals. I'm thinking if ever there was a shadow animal with my name on it, its the owl. Also, the owl happens to be my birth animal. It's all so interesting, but I'd just like to not hyperventilate when I see one. I'm workin' on it.

*No offense to all you owl lovers out there.

Last Night's Film Mixer and stuff...

I went to the Film Mixer at Mother Egan's last night. It was interesting, inspiring listening to Marta McGonagle talk about her experiences in breaking into the L.A. acting scene. It's always fun to meet with other Austin actors and film-makers. And still... I am so surprised at how many people never go to these.

This afternoon I am working on getting a few cute little dog/puppy pins ready to go up on Etsy and watching a little Torchwood on DVD. (I'm so glad I live in a time where there is Netflix.)

Tonight I am going to a midnight movie to see 'Wanted'. I can't wait!
