Printmaking and Stamp making!

This past Saturday I went to a workshop to learn some new printmaking techniques. I'm excited to try and come up with some fancy ones of my own. These are some practice ones that I made in the workshop. Enjoy!

These are from stamps made by drawing on styrofoam, then coloring the stamps with marker and then pressing onto paper.
This is a print made from a string stamp (made with string glued on cardboard). Next time I will cut the pieces rather than wrapping the string like an etch-a-sketch. :-)

This is a print made from a soft block cutting. I cut "Hark!" into the front and back going forward and backwards. I think it made a really cool image with them both printed in the same spot with different colors. Fun!

This past Thanksgiving

I'm embarrassed to just now be posting these, but I have been a little distracted the past couple of months. So... here are some pics from this past Thanksgiving and my birthday. I actually got to make the turkey and dressing this year. Yay! If I do say so myself (and I am) it was freaking delicious. Here ya go, enjoy!

PS- Hope to have some artwork either by me or by students up soon. Cheers!

Here are my 89 year old Grandmother and my Aunt Dianne. Man, they are looking awesome for their age! (awesome anyway).

I think I look like I'm happy to be one of the entrees in this picture. HAHA!

My student teacher and I are thinking of ideas for printmaking in my class. Here is a practice one. I plan to post some pictures of the super cute clay projects we are doing on here soon.

Ok, I think I know what I am going to draw/paint now.

I have been really having a hard time figuring out what I want to draw or paint, mostly 'cause I just don't know what I am feeling at the moment. I think it is finally becoming clear what I must do. Some duality images will be appearing soon. Stay tuned. ;-) ** Tonight I am doing a showcase for an acting class. I am looking forward to doing it, but also for it to be over. Time for some creative recharging and some rest. (although, I have to say I have been feeling great, and very well rested... hmmmph...)

Some "Get-Well" cards from students of mine...

Aren't these sweet?! I had a great day today. One of my students who has been very sick with cancer came by my classroom to see me after work. It was wonderful to get to give him a hug and let his Dad see his art work. Also, I sent him off with my watercolor kit to finish a beautiful fantasy map he'd been working on in my room. Good day.

Just something I made a little while ago.

I drink your milkshake.
I was just feeling silly and wanted to make this. It turned out interesting I guess... hahaha.
